4/16/10 - More odds and ends

I have had limited time to work on the car and the intervals have not been long enought to accomplish anything meaningful.  I spent a little time today riveting the firewall in place.  I also hung the master cylinder reserviors to the firewall.

4/16/10 - Another Day Working on the Engine

April 16th (a holiday for CPA's).  I took the day off to work on the engine.  Lots of flooding today so another good day to be inside.  My buddy and I were able to get the push rods installed with the rocker arms.  I took the Mass Flo intake manifold to Cradin Industries in Boerne to have it ceramic coated.  It turned out nice.  I also had them do the J-Pipes.  They are car guys so it was fun talking with them.  We mounted the intake manifold and assembled teh fuel rails and injectors.  We tried to put on the Cobra valve covers but ran into a problem with them rubbing on the rocker arms.  I am in need of a spacer (going to order today).  We got the alternator buttoned down and installed the water outlet.  We mounted the Mass Flo meter in the Cobra air cleaner (follow their instructions as it requires so other parts from Mass Flo to use the oval Cobra filter.  The engine is starting to take shape.  The distributor received in the Mass Flo kit was for a 351 so it would not work.  Talked to Chris at Mass Flo and we have the correct one heading my way.  Probably one more good day on the engine and it will be ready to go in the car.  I will have to start getting the other things done on the chassis to be ready for the engine.

4/11/10 Wrap up Brake Lines, Clutch Quadrant

I have not had much time to work on the car.  The weather forced me indoors today, so I was able to finish the brake lines and master cylinder.  I also install the billet clutch quadrant from Breeze.  I did not have any help so bleeding the brakes is next on the list.

3/20/10-Continue on Engine Build

These bad weather days make it easier to stay inside and work on the car.  We installed the lifters, the chrome oil pan, the water pump, and started in on the pulleys.  I purchased the power steering pump mount and the alternator mount from Cobrastuff.com.  I required me to change the timing cover and water pump to a 93 model (my donor was a 95 Mustang).  This is causing some issues with my pulleys.  The pulley kit I ordered was for a 95 (oops).  I will need to switch to a 93 pulley setup.  The 95 crank pulley does not align with all the other pulleys.  We also started on the MassFlo system but we are not ready to button up the top end until we get the pushrods.  We did measure the pushrods today and I going to order what is needed.  The engine is really starting to take shape and it is going to look goooood!

3/14/10-More odds and ends

I have had limited time to work on the car and the intervals have not been long enought to accomplish anything meaningful.  I spent a little time today riveting the firewall in place.  I also hung the master cylinder reserviors to the firewall.

3/7/10-More work on the Engine

We had bad weather today so I spent all day working on the engine build.  Today we worked on degreeing the cam and installing the timing chain and cover.  We also installed the heads and oil pump and pickup.  I put a coat of paint on the block and heads.  We ended the day needing more parts so off to spending more money.

2/21/10-Install Braided Fuel Lines, Back Trunk Panels, Master Cylinder kit

I spent a couple of hours working on the fuel lines to the fuel tank. I also attached the 2 outer rear panels permanently.  I started installing the power booster for the brakes.
