12/12/09 Steering rack, more holes, and front end misc

I finished drilling all the holes in the floorboard. I think (We'll see if there are more) I have all the wholes drilled in the aluminum panels.

I also finished the weep holes in the frame. This will let out any moisture that might get into the tubes.

I received the coils for the rear springs this week so I assembled the rear coil overs.

I assembled the front spindles and torqued the bolts for the front spindles and the lower control arms.

I installed the steering rack. I am not sure how it will fit together as the tie rods look alot longer than needed and the threading on the rods is almost used up. I may have to call FFR to see what I might be missing.

Greg,
You will need to cut the tie rods to length, see notes on this link http://mk3build.com/mk3manual/doku.php?id=rack

I used the MK3 site a lot for the steering rack mods. I had to order the 94-95 kit for the steering rack and still had to cut the inner tie rods to length.
